Hi, I’m Geoff.

I love seeing people discover they're capable of more than they thought.

That's why I coach.

Strength training is one of the best tools I know for helping people feel more confident, move with less hesitation, and realize they're capable of doing things they may not have thought possible.

Whether you're just getting started, returning after time away, or looking for a more thoughtful approach to training, my goal is to help you build strength in a way that feels sustainable and fits your life.

How this started

Living Room Fitness started during the early days of the pandemic, when many people suddenly lost access to gyms, routines, and the structure that helped them stay active.

What began as online coaching from my living room gradually grew into the coaching practice I run today, working with clients both in SE Portland and online.

The name stuck—even though the business has grown—because the original idea hasn't changed: helping people build strength in a way that works in real life.

My approach to coaching

I don't believe most people need someone yelling at them or pushing them harder.

More often, they need a plan they can trust, guidance that makes sense, and someone who can help them adjust as life inevitably changes.

Good coaching isn't about doing the hardest workout possible.

It's about making steady progress over time.

That's why I focus on quality movement, thoughtful strength training, and building habits people can actually maintain.

I’ve been there, too

Like many people, I've made plenty of mistakes in my own training.

I've trained through injuries when I should have backed off.

I've tried to make up for missed workouts by doing too much.

I've confused working harder with training smarter.

Those experiences changed how I coach today.

They remind me that progress isn't about being perfect—it's about continuing to move forward.

Push ups at home.

What I hope clients leave with

Of course I want people to get stronger.

But I also hope they leave coaching feeling more confident in themselves.

I want clients to understand their bodies better, enjoy training more, and know they can continue making progress long after our first session together.

If someone finishes coaching believing they're capable of more than they once thought, we've done something worthwhile.
